The life and love of a woman. Her thoughts and feelings reflecting her everyday experiences, her family, her views, her passions... lifestyle, events and everything else. Her journey as she lives a life in sweetness and serenity.
My 3-year old son, Brent, is already learning how to pick up his toys, keep it away and organize his things. Thus, we do not have much stress finding his stuffs, for he knows where he left it.
I come to witness his sadness when his favorite Canonbolt toy, a Ben10 character, got lost. He is so fond of Ben 10 Figure Toys. For three days, everyone kept looking for Canonbolt. We all thought that it was left in his Ninong's van or got lost when he took it outside.
He would bring and take Canonbolt anywhere- from taking a bath and from going to school but he keeps it in his bag when school is about to start. He would carry it when we go out in the mall, in the grocery and even in our in-laws and grandma's house. I did not realize that there is so much attachment and security that he was deeply saddened by the lost.
Last night, he still kept on searching for his toy, removing all the toys in their toy drawer and looking in his bags. Yet, there was no sign of Canonbolt. He eases this sadness by asking to watch Ben10 videos on YouTube. He felt better but still, I can feel the longing in his eyes.
He is full of hope that he would find Canonbolt. I am thankful this morning when his yaya found it just beneath the PC table in the living room! No one bothered to look here since that table was just recently moved, but it was there!
Upon waking up, my son was filled with joy when he saw his favorite toy! His eyes lit up, his smile is all-over and he kept on holding on to Canonbolt! He might have believed that Canonbolt is just here and he knows that we are going to find it again. For him, it was just a mere game of hide-and-seek.

After speculating on where to spend my day, I've decided to attend the Belle de Jour Recessionista Rendezvous at The Ramp Glorietta 4. I ditch out the Yahoo! Philippines Purple Hunt Finale because I really don't have enough energy for that event.
Sixty lucky girls got the chance to attend this event. Since it's my first BDJ event, I have no idea what the human bingo game is all about. Upon registering, the other attendees swarmed by and ask me to sign their sheets and they'll sign mine too. Very interesting!
OK! Magazine Editor-in-Chief Frances Amper-Sales, shares her knowledge on blogging, earning money online through advertising and online selling, pay to blog sites. I agree, you can learn extra in those fun yet rewarding online sidelines!
Selecta Foods' Brand Manager Jennifer Madrid's talk is really inspiring. She speaks highly of “Creating Your Unique Value at Work"; on knowing what your best at and owning it. Truly commendable.
Freelance stylist Dona Cuna-Pita, shares how to look good even on a tight budget. Her funny antics make everyone in the room laugh, yet learn at the same time. She shares ideas on DIY clothing, and swapping with friends. It's either you scrimp or splurge; but you can look the part even in the recession!
Another good thing about this event is the goodies and prizes. Everyone wins a raffle prize! I won a GC for Hair Protein treatment from Azta Salon and a CMG hand mirror for answering a question. Coincidentally, my seatmates Rowena and Ria, also won the same Azta Salon GC!I brought home these goodies from Flojos, Havaianas, Jellybean, Penshoppe, Azta Salon, Garnier, White Hat, Heaven and Eggs and Iora.
Again, I failed to bring my camera. I have to settle with my camera phone and grabbed some pictures from Ria, my seatmate. Thanks for the pictures.
For someone who loves Belle de Jour but doesn't own a Belle de Jour planner, being part of this event is worth an experience. The tips and the people you meet makes this day an enjoyable one. The Belle De Jour Rendezvous is truly fabulous, enlightening and fun all throughout! Is my decision to attend this worth it? Definitely!
I take chances and I am always present to all life's opportunities!
Yesterday, I embraced and seized two opportunities; but today, I let these pass.
I prepared and hoped for luck, but it seems that luck is not enough. I woke up feeling a slight headache and my colds won't stop. This is not good even though I know that I have a good chance of making it if I am not sneezing and my eyes are not watery. I will never push myself into something that could make my condition worse. I might have missed this chance still, I have no regrets. I know and keep on believing that there'll be more opportunities to come and to create.
Now, I am praying for betterment and taking care of myself with much rest that I can manage. Tomorrow would be another day to look forward to and later on, I would choose on what event I would be attending. Would I choose to be in a huge event at the Fort or attend the small affair at Glorietta?
I am fond of looking at every wonderfully prepared dish and when I realize that this comes with easy-to-follow recipes, I begin to be inspired. This is one thing that makes life simple yet better.
I am just amazed at how these videos from iVillage can make living less stressful. You Can See More Life Made Easy Videos Here. Working mom and Top Chef contestant Ariane Duarte is featured in several videos, where she shares her great food ideas and tips. The videos are sponsored by Walmart, which makes it better since you won't have a hard time trying to figure out where the item would be purchased.
The meals are affordable, easy to prepare and presentable all at the same time. I am also interested at the inexpensive recipes for T-bone steak, the Vanilla Ice Cream Cake and the Summer Fruit Shortcake. Definitely, even a mom who doesn't know how to cook and prepare a meal will now try to learn preparing a delicious food for her family. Hmmmm, this sounds just like me.
Aside from this, even the craft oriented videos and gift ideas at iVillage sounds more enjoyable too. Visiting iVillage is truly worth my time. There's a plethora of topics and information on women's health, wellness, and beauty. It's a site where I can learn, explore and experience.
On this day, a Total Solar Eclipse will occur. It will be starting in India, moving through Nepal, Bangladesh, China, and the southern end of Japan, and will end in the South Pacific. This would be completely visible in India and China at 5:29 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. This is the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century that would last for 6 minutes 39 seconds.
Here in the Philippines, we would be witnessing only a partial solar eclipse. According to PAGASA, the eclipse can be viewed in Metro Manila from 8:32 a.m. to 11:01 a.m; with its peak at 9:43 a.m. A spectacular event like this would increase people's curiosity and excitement. Thus, everyone should really take precaution and use proper equipment if they want to witness the moon as it partially covers the sun. Viewing the eclipse without proper gear can damage the eyes. Thesafest method to view the eclipse is by indirect viewing like projecting the image with a pinhole camera. Word of Precaution: Do not look directly at the sun!
You can check out NASA's interactive map to view the path of the eclipse and detailed information about this event. Here are also some websites where you can watch the live broadcast of the eclipse:
It would be an "Ultimate SpongeBob SpongeBash Weekend" from July 17-19, as SpongeBob fans will enjoy new episodes including the top-10 most voted shows of the viewers.
Ever since SpongeBob debut last July 1999 on children's TV network, Nickelodeon, he has captured the hearts of many kids, parents and even U.S. President Barack Obama and actor Johnny Depp. This is really a show that parents like to watch with their kids. Every episode is filled with friendship, hard work, and loyalty; as well as silly scenes and humor that appeal to the viewers.
He lives in a pineapple under the sea in the town of Bikini Bottom together with bestfriend Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabs, Gary the Snail and a lot more. SpongeBob is truly a worldwide icon with millions of fans in the world.
I too was captured by his innocence and naivety. I love his yellow smiley face and the fact that he his jolly and optimistic. The show, even with its ironic situations and messages for the mature audiences is really worth watching.
SpongeBob is one of the shows that my kids enjoy watching and one of their favorite character as well. In fact, SpongeBob was the party theme of my son when he celebrated his first birthday 2 years ago.

“May you never forget what is worth remembering, nor ever remember what is best forgotten” ~ Irish Blessings quotes
A woman remembers only the best things in life.
I choose what I share and what I write. I write and blog moments that I want to cherish. I keep track of experiences that give meaning to my life. I only choose to remember life lessons and situations that make life worth living. My joys and successes are more important than my pains and sorrows.
As much as possible I renounce writing about frustrations, disappointments, hateful words and problems. The world is made up of all these, and I don't want to surround myself with these negativities. When others can easily write about the traffic, complain about the poor service they get; the people they loathe or politicians they hate, find fault in someone else and the countless energy draining circumstances; I choose not to. However, I will never allow a bad experience or a dissatisfaction to pass, instead I'll work on it in a different manner.
Yes, I whine, got angry, feel disappointed; I suffer, I feel bad, etc. etc. I had experienced and will continue to feel all these from time to time. Yet I learned how to view everything in a different angle. Between a painful situation and the lessons gained from that experience, I would always choose to remember and share the later.
Life is not perfect and it is not always fair. This I accept. Everything is just a matter of acceptance, of learning and growing. Maybe by choosing not to dwell on the negative side of life, my perception changes and I become more optimistic... and I can always say that life and living is truly wonderful.
I am an extra in the world of politics and showbiz!
July 3. After attending Imelda Marcos 80th birthday celebration the night before, I spent the next day at Rustan's Makati for MomWorks shoot. It's my turn to shine even if I am not a really a celebrity.
I came sleepy, unprepared and even without spare batteries for my digital camera. Good enough, one of their staff took these pictures using her cellphone camera. This is better than nothing. Two other moms made this shoot fun and enjoyable. We had our hair and makeup in the morning; choose and fit the clothes afterwards. Rustan's personal shopper and stylist Rima Ostwani shared tips and talks about the clothes that we wear. It's a wonderful experience getting to wear those clothes that I could not really afford. I don't know if I look good on TV or did well while modeling those clothes.
This shoot is for MomWorks Dress for Success segment. This will be aired on Lifestyle Network Skycable Channel 52 on June 15, 8:30 p.m. with replays on July 16, 3:30pm; July 18, 10:30am and July 19, 11:30pm.
Update: This will be shown next week July 22, 8:30 p.m.
MomWorks is a 30-minute show hosted by celebrity mom Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan. The show focuses on the struggles and triumphs of the woman as a wife, a mother and career woman. It's a one-stop resource show for that inspires every mom.

It’s Monday, I sold an item and it feels great!
Two weeks ago I decided to post a “For Sale” advertisement in a forum and sell 2 gift certificates. I still have lots of gift certificates with me and I realized that I don't need these gift certificates anymore. I received messages and inquiries, a few made reservations; and today, I made a sale! It's not a huge amount, but this had been a good way to start my week.
I am not really born to be a seller. I would rather buy an item than sell it. I would rather design and conceptualize an advertisement than make a sales talk.
My selling know-how was limited only to the times when my siblings and I assisted my mom in selling items at bazaars (years ago). It is my business-minded mom who has the flair in the world of buy and sell; whether it is selling cars, real estate properties, clothes, and a lot more.
Though, I also had my share of story being a seller myself. Months before I started working at Summit Media, I opened an online store at Multiply selling clothes and a few accessories. It was my sister who had influenced me to sell items online. I was enjoying those days when clients made inquiries and purchase items from me. I had clients all over the Philippines and one client who was from Qatar. I was so thankful for those months that I made money at home, as much as I appreciate all the buyers who trusted me. It was only after being busy working at Summit Media that I could no longer handle my online shop.
Today, I feel good because again I've done something I'm not really good at!
I appreciate every blog awards that I've received from my fellow bloggers. Now, I am posting and sharing the tag and the awards that I received a week ago.

I am giggling while I watching these adorable babies break dancing while on their roller skates. This is a commercial video advertisement of a high-priced French bottled water, Evian.
This video already has 3 million views and is becoming another sensation in YouTube. A lot of people are amazed as these babies groove to “Rapper’s Delight” by hip-hop producer Dan the Automater.
Yes the video is computer-generated. Ludo Fealy of the Motion Picture Company and his team in London filmed a skater doing the moves and programmed this to replicate the babies’ body. This is Evian’s Live Young advertising campaign.
Babies works like charm even if they are in bizarre situations. I love their facial expressions that are captured well in the video. Somehow it’s weird and creepy when they leap over park fences and railings and these babies are not wearing their safety gears!
I couldn’t resist watching this video even if it doesn’t make me thirst for Evian. I wonder if this viral video will boost Evian's sales.

While I was tutoring my daughter with her Math assignment on "What's comes next in the series?", I remembered this very interesting fact.
On July 8, 2009 and the time is 5 minutes and 6 seconds after 4:00 am; the numbers are aligned -
04:05:06 07/08/09
Another sequence is bound to happen 13 months from now; and that will be on August 9, 2010 -
05:06:07 08/09/10
Do these numbers have a meaning? Well, I have no idea if this is a lucky day. Better to consult a numerologist.
But this is true only for countries who are using the International standard notation and the Philippines follows this. Europe has a different date notation with, month/day/year rather than day/month/year.
A month won't pass without my kids or family members getting an appearance in different magazines. Initially all these bring much excitement, even if it seems that I had been accustomed to seeing them in magazines. Sometimes, the excitement of joining magazine contest is also slowly fading away. But then, this is part of my life and small minute of joys that this brings is also worth remembering. I am cherishing this for I know that when my kids grow up, I will take a look at each pages once more and reminisce their childhood.
My Multiply site have been a haven of compilations of all my kid's appearances in magazines. Compiling every pages and posting it in my site; though sometimes I missed posting one or two magazine appearances.
This is me while working at the Information Systems department of Summit Media, the Philippine's leading magazine publisher; well-known for FHM magazine, Cosmopolitan, Smart Parenting, Top Gear, Real Living, Good Housekeeping, Disney Princess, Kzone and a lot more.
These pictures were taken 3 months ago when my hair is still long and black. This is before I receive my makeover in another magazine publication.

My sisters and I got the opportunity to attend the lavish and glitzy 80th birthday party of former first lady, Madame Imelda Marcos at the grand ballroom of Hotel Sofitel yesterday July 2. The event was truly Imel-riffic!
My little sister Jalysa, including 7 other kids welcomed Mrs. Marcos in the lobby area, gave her flowers and lead her in the grand ballroom. Jalysa was really lucky enough to personally greet and kiss her on the cheeks. She handed Mrs. Marcos her small handmade card and she was filled with much glee when Mrs. Marcos said, “Ohhh, I got a card!”
We were at the reserved table provided by the event coordinator; at the left side nearest the stage. We watched video clips and presentations that highlight the life and times of Mrs. Marcos. We glimpse at the gorgeous Dewi Sukarno, the former First Lady of Indonesia. We were filled with amazement looking as how she was surrounded by her friends, well-wishers, news reporters, and photographers. Our eyes were glued as she walked on stage accompanied by her grandsons and we attentively listened as she speaks.
We heard as she says that when authorities looked for skeletons in her closet, "they only found shoes". She pleads that she was guilty for "beinggreediest for the good, true and beautiful" and it did not upset her when Newsweek magazine listed her as one of the greediest people in the world. She says that she is vindicated, with only a hundred cases left. We heared her sincerity as she ask everyone for a minute of silence and say a silent prayer to the ailing former president, Mrs. Cory Aquino. We grasp at the confetti and fireworks after she blew out the candles of her birthday cake.
There were approximately a thousand guests - ambassadors, diplomats, high profile personalities, businessmen, government and private sector leaders, and supporters. Definitely, she’s more than a someone who owned a thousand pairs of shoes, dazzling jewelries and Filipiniana inspired gowns.
Yes, we are merely commoners in the multitude of people who attended her event; still it was such a huge privilege being one of the guests and witness her 80th birthday celebration.
A woman will always remember this momentous and once-in-a-lifetime event. Happy Birthday Madame!
It's the first day of the month and I am saying my sincerest appreciation for everyone who regularly visits my blog and those who dropped their EC's. Allow me to say thank you also to the people who take time to comment on my blog posts, to my new blog followers and those who add me in their blogroll; and everyone who posted a message in my message box.
Here are my Top 10 EC droppers for the month of June:
It was one tiring yet prolific Tuesday finding that perfect red gown for my little sister. She needs a long gown to wear for an evening affair this coming Thursday, July 2. We spent the afternoon looking for one at Landmark department store; but there aren’t any pretty red gowns to choose from. We hurried off to Divisoria (a place famous for cheap finds) at the exact time when a few shops have already closed. My little sister is big for a 9-year-old, and almost every red gown for girls are too short for her. Mama then decided to have my sister's red gown sewn since ready-made gowns don’t fit her at all. Just as I was getting excited to attend this affair of a high profile personality, even without something to wear yet; receiving an email for an event this coming Friday makes me more excited and nervous at the same time!
This is really interesting! U.S. high school students get creative and innovative in designing and making their own prom dresses and tux. Their dresses are not made of the common dress materials; theirs are made of duct tapes! This is perhaps the answer to these teenagers search for a one-of-a-kind and best looking dress they can wear to their proms. Crafty prom couples who don’t want to wear ordinary dresses have chosen to do their own. Amazing, isn't it?
Photo Source: Stuck at Prom website
This duct tape dress is part of the 'Stuck at Prom' contest where the winners, including their school will get a chance to win $3,000 scholarship money. It’s an event sponsored by Henkel Corp., the Avon-based maker of Duck brand duct tape. Duct tape dress designs can be viewed at Stuck at Prom website. There's at least 330 entries which was narrowed down to 10 finalist. Online voting is already ongoing and the winners will be announced on July 9.
I’ve checked out these dresses and it all looks so wonderful; I am just wondering if these dresses are comfortable enough to wear and just how many duct tapes they have consumed.
