Experiencing The Fourth Kind

Do you believe in aliens and alien abductions?

When a UFO is sighted it is an encounter of the first kind, collected evidence as the second kind, contact with extraterrestrials as the third and lastly, adbuction as the Fourth Kind.

The FOurth Kind, Sighting, Evidence

Contact, Abduction, The FOurth Kind movie review

The Fourth Kind is a documentary-drama that chronicles what claims to be a real-life case of alien abduction. It features a fraction of disappearance in Nome, Alaska where actual footages are integrated in the film. A split-screen is employed on much parts of the movie, side-by-side showing the "real" documentary footage and the reenactment of Jovovich and her co-stars.

The film opens with Milla Jovovich talking about the details of the film, saying
"This film is a dramatization of events that occurred in October 2000. Every scene in this movie is supported by archived footage. Some of what you are about to see is extemely disturbing."

This movie sees things from the perspective of Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich), a psychologist mourning the death of her husband. She discovers that much of Nome town's population is tormented by the same nightmare. Each night these people sees a white owl perch outside their bedroom window. She videotapes sessions with these traumatized patients and discovered some disturbing evidences of alien abduction.

The movie exposes these revelations of multiple witnesses, as all shares disturbingly identical details which happens at 3:33 a.m. Each one is not quite sure what they saw when it was happening. But despite multiple FBI investigations, the truth has never been discovered.

The film relies on its mystery, leaving things to our imaginations. Even if the movie can be disturbing, with a few terrifying and uneasy scenes, but it failed to deliver a lot more.

Accordingly, the film is based on actual case studies, or it could also be a marketing concept? And what else can scare us in our dreams and sometimes playing inside of our mind? I doubt that these are aliens. If you want to experience The Fourth Kind, better watch this movie on a fictional level for a more engaging experience.

What you see is yours to believe...

The Fourth Kind premiere tickets, SM MOA Cinema

Do aliens exist?

I believe they exist but maybe not in a way we perceived them to be. The entire universe is vast, never-ending and infinite, with billions of stars and galaxies... so there is a possibility that alien life exist somewhere, but definitely not here on Earth.

My winning answer that made me watched the Premiere of this movie at SM MOA Cinema last March 1, still, this does not make me believe on The Fourth Kind. I just love to watch a movie for Free!

Disney Channel's Princess Movie

A week won't pass without the kids watching a show at the Disney Channel. My daughter and my little sis are fond of the Hannah Montana, The Cheetah Girls, the High School Musical movies and a lot more Disney Channel shows. Of course, my daughter is fanatic of Disney Princesses too. Well, who wouldn't love to be a Princess?

A while ago, I've read about a Princess Protection Program... just the word "princess" builds my interest. I didn't initially thought that it is a Disney movie. Well, it is! I am sure that the kids would love to watch this movie too!

disney channel princess protection programPrincess Protection Program is the new Disney Channel original movie that premieres last June 26, 2009. This movie stars Demi Lovato of Camp Rock and Selena Gomez from Wizards of Waverly Place.

This new Disney film is an adventure-comedy about a princess who goes into hiding after her country is invaded and taken over by a dictator. Princess Rosalinda is placed in
the Princess Protection Program (PPP), a secret organization that rescues princesses, and lives with the family of tomboy Carter Mason whose life is turned upside-down after helping the Princess.

Checking on the Official Disney Website.

It is interesting that the Disney Channel website features a "Princess Password Program". It is where viewers would count the number of times the word "princess" is uttered in the movie and enter this in the website DisneyChannel.com. A correct answer will then unlock the new episodes of “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Sonny With A Chance.”

A Different Valentine’s Day Movie

I am not a fan of Valentine’s day celebration, of flowers, chocolates, dinner dates, and everything else associated with this day. For me, it is just an ordinary day. Still, seeing all these and the people who gets so excited for Valentine’s Day simply makes me smile.

My husband and I really weren’t planning anything on this day. It was only around 4 pm when we decided to take advantage of the free movie ticket we’ve won from
Rockwell Power Plant cinema’s Valentine’s treat. We really thought twice before watching a movie since Power Plant is showing classic films of Audrey Hepburn and we don’t know if we’re going to like it or not. Nonetheless, we compromise. We would leave the theater if one of us didn’t appreciate the film.

We choose to watch the 7pm film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Luckily, we did make a great choice! We enjoyed watching Audrey Hepburn’s film. It’s our first time to watch a classic film and we have no idea that it would be that good.

I was thankful for Rockwell’s Valentine’s day treat. We had a free movie and a tumbler of popcorn too! We didn't spend on chocolates, flowers nor expensive food... it was Audrey Hepburn's movie who made our day a totally different one!

Monday Movie: Changeling

January 12, 2009

It was already 6:30 pm and I was in a hurry to leave the workplace in time to catch the 7:00 VIP and Press Screening for the movie - Changeling. Never did I realize that the MRT was crowded, still, I squeezed myself in, unmindful how claustrophobic it had been. Hurriedly, I stepped off the train to meet my husband and off we walked to Gateway Cineplex.
With much luck, we arrived on time or should it be better to say that the movie started later than scheduled. We took advantage of the time to take some free refreshments.

How did I find the movie?
I am not a movie critic or a movie reviewer, I simply find this movie good enough and worthy of my time. Maybe the other people in the theater could agree with me too. Well, I just hope so. When the film started rolling and until it ended, everyone was focused and glued to their seats, never had I seen anyone who stand up and take a restroom break.

This is one story that had made me emotionally charged; and Angelina Jolie delivers a very compelling performance, seems like you are entirely immersed in her quest to find her son.
This Clint Eastwood's epic-melodramatic movie is based on a true story that happened in 1920s. It tells the story of Christine Collins, a single mother who works as supervisor at a telephone-operator station. When she returned home from her last shift, Christine finds that her son, Walter, is nowhere to be found.

Five months later and in order to quiet the press, the LAPD, who are desperate for good press coverage gives her another kid. Collins knew that the boy is not her son and the scenario becomes clear upon learning that the new Walter is three inches shorter than he was before (and he is also now circumcised). When Collins confronts the police and pointed out their mistake, the police chief and the captain have her committed to a mental institution. It was the local preacher Rev. Gustav Briegleb (John Malcovich) who aided her and takes her cause against police corruption.

Well, isn't a movie of a woman who struggle against a crooked system, fights for the son, or for her son's memory worth watching? This movie could somehow be disturbing and exhilarating, but, satisfying enough realizing how well made it is. Nonetheless, like everyone else, I concur that Clint Eastwood is a terrific director.

Since I got the chance to grab this ticket from Getzmo and I am a Getzmo blogger also, this blog post will also be posted in the Getzmo website.

The Twilight Bug

I am not much of a movie fanatic or should I say a die-hard Twilight fanatic. Never have I been interested in anything that involves vampires and the likes. But with the ongoing phenomenon about this movie, I decided to watch this also when my husband downloaded this movie from Torrentz. Maybe I might enjoy watching this movie after all! Of course I did... this is really a good movie to watch.

Here goes my list of the memorable-Twilight-words:

Edward Cullen: All superhero stuff right? But what if I'm not the hero? What if I am the bad guy?
Isabella Swan: You're not.

Isabella Swan: [to Edward] I'd rather die than to stay away from you.

Edward Cullen: And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.
Isabella Swan: What a stupid lamb.
Edward Cullen: What a sick, masochistic lion.

Edward Cullen: That's what you dream about? Being a monster?
Isabella Swan: I dream about being with you forever.

Edward Cullen: [to Bella] You are my life now.

Edward Cullen: If you were smart, you'd stay away from me.
Isabella Swan: Ok. For arguments sake, let's say I'm not smart.

Edward Cullen: I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore.
Isabella Swan: Then don't.

Isabella Swan: I'd never given much though to how I would die. But dying in place of someone I love, seems like a good way to go. I can't bring myself to regret the decisions that brought me face to face with death. They also brought me to Edward.

Edward Cullen: You don't know how long I've waited for you.

Edward Cullen: I hate you for making me want you so much.

Isabella Swan: About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominate that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Isabella Swan: This isn't real. This kind of stuff just doesn't exist.
Edward Cullen: It does in my world.

Edward Cullen: Your scent, it's like a drug to me. You're like my own personal brand of heroin.
Edward Cullen: I'm going to make it go away, Bella. I'm going to make it go away.

Isabella Swan: Just don't leave me.
Edward Cullen: Where else am I gonna go?

Should I now start reading Stephenie Meyer’s best selling Twilight saga? I guess I won’t. I used to love reading books. Books are great and I want my children to develop this love for books. But now, I would rather spent time on the Internet than bury myself in a book. Or maybe I should start downloading the Twilight ebooks?!

I guess the Twilight bug had just bitten me...
