7 Years Milestones

Being 7 years old had been great for my daughter. It's her best and happiest year so far. It's the year when she had the grandest time of her life.

Lots of wonderful memories and achievements happened when she turned seven. I could list a hundred things that makes being 7 a great year, but let me share her best 7 moments -

Celebrated her ballerina themed 7th birthday with family and friends.

Joined the school's Buwan ng Wika activities where she performed a traditional Filipino dance with her classmates and declaimed the piece "Sa Aking Mga Kababata."

Performed two ballet dances for Effie Nanas' Grand Ballet Recital - Enchanted Ballet at the CCP.

Dressed up as Barbie doll for Halloween where she felt like being a Barbie celebrity for a day and won several prizes.

Received her First Holy Communion. Participated in the church rites - Greetings, Ama Namin prayer, Glory to God and Tell the World of His Love.

Last week, she turned 8 years old. Hoping for another fruitful year for my daughter!

Turning 6, a School Birthday Celebration

My youngest turned 6!

We had a simple celebration at school on his exact birth date which falls on a Friday.

This time, he wanted an Angry Birds cake. I ordered cakes and mini cakes from Iko's Bakeshop. Their cake is good enough, delicious and moist with the right sweetness. I prefer it since it's very affordable. The place is near their school and we can easily pick it up.

I just created DIY cupcake toppers with Angry Birds characters and a couple of his favorite Ben 10 alien characters. Everyone got excited upon seeing the cake and mini cupcakes as soon as we entered their classroom. Mini cupcakes would always be a good choice for kids for they can easily eat it up.

For simple celebrations, I remain to be a certified Iko's client.

We ordered food from Jollibee, but served Refresh juice drinks instead. Jollibee One Mercedes Plaza branch, delivers on time. There were paper bags (which I requested) so the kids can bring home their leftovers. There are no plastic food containers (except for the gravy containers) and plastic bags since these are already banned in Pasig City.

My son's party loots contain chocolates, candies and Angry bird items (an eraser, sticker and a slap bracelet). I just placed personalized stickers on top of the microwavable plastic container. Kids really have simple joys and they appreciate all these!

This simple celebration made my son really happy! He's thankful for the gifts he got from his classmates and from his family members as well.

Third Honors



My kids' first year at SGIS had been fruitful. They both received the 3rd Honors award during the school recognition last March. They ranked 3rd (overall) in their levels respectively. In addition, my daughter received an award for Best in Conduct.

Proud that my sister got the 3rd Honors award as well.

Today, my daughter ranked 1st in class and my son is receiving high letter grades as well.

These are family events and celebrations and I thank God for love and blessings He had given all of us!

Traditional Party Invitations

Our July month is filled with weekend parties and occasions, and most of these event invitations are being sent online.

Nowadays, we don't really get to receive those conventional card invitations since everything can easily be sent thru email, online video or thru Facebook. The only invitations that I get to hold are the school party invites from my kids' classmates.

A few months from now, one of my cousin would celebrate her 18th birthday. Of course, aside from the e-birthday invitations she's going to send, she would also be creating a card invitation. With her red and black motif, a black card stock, would be appropriate for the occasion.

Sending online invitations are faster and easier. It also reduces paper waste and frees up your budget. Still, not everyone, particularly the oldies, has an email, Facebook account or Internet access.

Even if most invites are being sent online, it is still a good idea to make use of those traditional invitations especially during special occasions - like wedding, 18th birthdays, etc. Personalized party invitations are more formal, make your guests feel more precious and your event more important.

Party Food: Buffet, Food Carts, Cakes and Cupcakes!

While waiting for the party to start, our party guests get to have a quick fix at the Ice Cream station and Corn dog food cart. There's also a Candy Buffet for those kids and adults who want lots of sweet-fix.







The food buffet filled the appetites of our party guests. Princess Jade Catering's food is superb and the drinks are over-flowing. We customized their menu packages and choose the food that we want. We had Pork with broccoli, Garlic chicken, Penne pasta in red sauce, Beef with Young Corn and Fruit Salad.











And of course, Skylah loved her birthday cake the most! I love the ballerina shoes, stars and hearts cupcake toppers. The chocolate cake is moist and not too sweet, just perfect for our taste. We've got cupcakes and mini-cakes that some guests took home.





I hope that all our party guests went home fully satisfied!
