In an effort to improve their customer relations, Meralco revamped its online services through its user-friendly website, apps and social network sites.

Customers can now interact with Meralco online through the Meralco website, Facebook fan page, Twitter account and YouTube channel. With these online presence, Meralco can better serve their customers to the fullest by providing real time response, assistance and information.

The new Meralco website guides visitors to two main sections:

1. FOR CUSTOMERS - a section that provides the answers to customer concerns including electricity consumption, bill-related matters, and new account applications.
2. THE COMPANY- the section for corporate reports, business partnerships, stakeholder relations, and investor information.

I really find the Meralco E-Bill app and the Meralco Appliance Calculator or AppCal very useful.

With the Meralco Appliance Calculator or AppCal, customers can compute and gauge their electricity consumption based on the different appliances they use at home. You can now compute the consumption of your electric appliances per hour, day, week, and month.

This app can be accessed through the Meralco website, or downloaded from the site as an app for smart phones and tablets.

With the Meralco E-Bill app, customers can access their monthly bills online.

Meralco’s social network pages offer different features:

1. Twitter @meralco provides round-the-clock customer service
2. Meralco Facebook page is the hub for the latest campaigns where you can learn more about the company’s services, innovations, and CSR projects.
3. Meralco's YouTube channel hosts Meralco’s television commercials and special video features.

Aside from these digital properties, Meralco is laying out the groundwork for innovations: Wider Power Distribution, Prepaid Electricity, Meralco Power Generation, the Automated Area Network, and Meralco-Powered Electric Vehicles are just the start of greater things to come, for a brighter future for the Philippines.

Ballet Philippines' Inamorata: A Woman in All Her Glory

Ballet Philippines presented Inamorata, its second season offering, last September 23 to 25 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater. My daughter and I was able to watch the September 23 evening show.

Inamorata is the heart of its 42nd Season: Faces of Eve. It highlights the 100th years of International Women’s Day by presenting the many facets of woman as it gives tribute to woman through her triumphs and travails.

Inamorata,Ballet Philippines,CCP

The show starts with "Harlequinade", a pas de deux comedic dance that shows a woman's wit and fanciful ways.

“Hardin ng Balo” (Garden of the Widow) depicts an old widow reminiscing the happy life she had lived with her family and how she yearned to be with her husband who had gone before her. It ends with a sweet note as she finds her husband summoning her to join him, but this time, for eternity.

The vocal performance of soprano Rachelle Gerodias was amazing! She also gave a powerful rendition in Quando Me'n Vo (Pagputok ng Dibdib).

"Flames of Paris" is a fascinating pas de deux. It shows a woman's strength and virtuosity.

I find "Everywoman" very forceful and interesting. It is dramatized by a woman, a serpent, a pope, and several priests. It shows that a woman can assert herself amidst the sexual repression by men.

“Japayuki” (Always Be in My Mind) depicts the grief, suffering and emotions of an OFW mother, who choose to be parted from her child to give him a better life, but a terrible accident ended her child's life.

"Moving Two" and "Mithi" shows the romantic love and relationship of a man and woman. "Mithi" looks at the relationship of two individuals who love each other and 'experienced loss at its keenest level.' I find it emotionally-wonderful. Soprano Camille Lopez Molina gave an amazing performance as well!

"Amar Como El Mar" highlights the woman's beauty and magnificence. It's a great segment where you can almost feel the breeze, the waves and the stormy weather. I love how the program expresses it:

A man is spit out of the sea. Playing with the waves, it is summer in his memory. A woman appears. Their kiss tastes like brine. When a stone is hurled in the water, meteors fall from the sky. Time turns everything to sand. Every speck, the dried skeleton of the sea.

There are segments that appears sensual, but it is innovatively-choreographed and cleverly manipulated by the ballet dancers. Inamorata was well-received by the audience. Dancers, choreographers, singers, fashion icons Ito Curata, Jojie Lauren, and Rajo Laurel, and everyone whose part of the production were all heartily applauded.

Truly, Inamorata, honor women as the beloved!

My daughter enjoyed watching the ballet performance as much as I do. Her eyes were kept glued on stage all throughout. She felt happy (though, shy)  for she got pictures with Ballet Philippines principal dancers - Candice Adea and Katherine Trofeo.

Wear Your ID Badge

Inside my wallet are three different identification cards. I keep it there together with my credit cards, debit cards, VIP cards and different loyalty cards.

I haven't worn any ID badge holders for at least two years. I just use my IDs in exchange for a visitor's pass inside a building, whenever I claim prizes or if a store merchant requires one whenever I make a credit card purchase.

Nowadays, cards that contain chip and magnetic stripes with stored information of a person's identity are already becoming rampant. These are usually used for access and security purposes. I’ve got a chance to use a visitor’s ID card with a magnetic access chip that works as an elevator floor pass too.

Badge holders are important to protect these ID cards and other important cards from wear and tear. Using one secures our ID from loss and makes our ID easier to find if it's inside your bag. Most of these badges are available in different colors, sizes, styles and orientation.

I've seen a lot of wonderful accessories that would make you really proud to wear your school or company ID. Aside from the usual badge clips, badge reels, badge holders and lanyards that we're familiar with; there are also other ID accessories in the market. It's the first time that I've seen these items - Armband holders, Hard Hat Badge Holder and Magnetic Badge Holder - while looking into an online ID Card Printers and Photo ID Systems site.

Since ID cards are usually outsourced to card printing companies, there are some organizations who are already implementing the ID card printing process in their own offices. What they do is invest in  high quality id badge printers and supplies. An ordinary printer won't be enough since nobody wants to wear a poorly-created ID card. Creating their own ID cards allows them to secure their place and protect their business even more.

Powerful Household Tool

Air compressors are critical and essential equipment tool for large industrial companies and businesses, specifically in the automotive and carpentry industry.

At home, having an air compressor is also important. There are instances where you need to put air in your car tires or in the tires of your kids' bikes, but you don't want to make a trip to the gas station. If you’re into home DIY repair and improvement, an air compressor makes nailing and installing molding a lot easier. It is an all-in-one indispensable DIY home equipment.

Before using the air compressor, you always have to make sure that the air compressor filter is cleared. An air compressor that is well maintained will not endanger your health or cause air pollution.

Also check air compressor parts regularly to ensure that it is in good working condition. After using, check for signs of breakage so you can make replacements as soon as possible.

Of course, you always want to keep it in good service as long as possible. Regular maintenance like keeping the air filter and fuel tank clean, changing the oil and checking the hoses (or replacing it if you see corrosion) can extend the life of your compressor.

It's really a handy all-round equipment. If you have kids who enjoys inflatable pool rafts and inflatable bouncers, a handy compressor can inflate and deflate these toys within seconds. By using an air compressor, quickly filling in an inflatable objects becomes a lot easier, as opposed to having to do it manually by blowing into it.

But, buying the right air compressor is not that easy. It's really hard to select air compressors since there are many specifications and lots of information you have to consider. First is you have to know what air compressor suits your needs. Most importantly is to buy from a manufacturer and company that has a solid reputation.

Rapunzel is the Newest Disney Princess!

Rapunzel (photo source: Disney)
I just learned that - Rapunzel is the officially the 10th and the newest Disney princess! She was crowned last October 3 at the Kensington Palace in London, UK.

All the Disney princesses - Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Snow White and Tiana - where there to celebrate the event.

lovely Disney Princesses

Wow! A Royal Celebration indeed!

That's Snow White leading the procession in a horse carriage!

Snow White

It's good that Rapunzel is not a damsel in distress, despite being locked up in the tower. She's like a modern day heroine. She has an inquisitive, energetic and strong personality. She's brave and very determined to fulfill her dreams!

My daughter loves the Disney Princesses! (well, most girls really do!) She enjoyed watching Disney Princess movies, read Disney Princess books and Disney Princess magazines; and every Disney items!

her favorites! (photo taken years ago)

She also enjoyed wearing Disney Princesses costumes!

as Belle and Snow White :)

Hopefully, we'll get to visit Disneyland soon so she can meet the Disney Princesses!

Rapunzel: I've been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?
Flynn Rider: It will be.
Rapunzel: And what if it is? What do I do then?
Flynn Rider: Well, that's the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream.
