Turning 6, a School Birthday Celebration

My youngest turned 6!

We had a simple celebration at school on his exact birth date which falls on a Friday.

This time, he wanted an Angry Birds cake. I ordered cakes and mini cakes from Iko's Bakeshop. Their cake is good enough, delicious and moist with the right sweetness. I prefer it since it's very affordable. The place is near their school and we can easily pick it up.

I just created DIY cupcake toppers with Angry Birds characters and a couple of his favorite Ben 10 alien characters. Everyone got excited upon seeing the cake and mini cupcakes as soon as we entered their classroom. Mini cupcakes would always be a good choice for kids for they can easily eat it up.

For simple celebrations, I remain to be a certified Iko's client.

+ Food

We ordered food from Jollibee, but served Refresh juice drinks instead. Jollibee One Mercedes Plaza branch, delivers on time. There were paper bags (which I requested) so the kids can bring home their leftovers. There are no plastic food containers (except for the gravy containers) and plastic bags since these are already banned in Pasig City.

+ Loots

My son's party loots contain chocolates, candies and Angry bird items (an eraser, sticker and a slap bracelet). I just placed personalized stickers on top of the microwavable plastic container. Kids really have simple joys and they appreciate all these!

+ Gifts

This simple celebration made my son really happy! He's thankful for the gifts he got from his classmates and from his family members as well.

My Ben10 Turned Four!

birthday cake Ben10 heatblast

My son, Brent, turned a year older. He was born on the 10th. I guess it has nothing to do with the reason why he is so passionate about Ben10 and his name has the letters B-E-N. His previous Ben10 collection doubled since last year. Now, it is almost complete. He even knows what characters he doesn't have.

Last year, we've ordered a Ben10 complete character cake. This year, he had chosen a Ben10 Heatblast cake! He initally wanted a Cannonbolt cake, but Red Ribbon does not have that kind. For his birthday gift, we didn't get him a Ben10 character toy; instead, we bought him a Skids and Mudflap character from Transformers.

His simple birthday celebration turned out to be a whole day affair. Family lunch at Dencio's, spaghetti and cake for merienda, ice creams and KFC chicken for dinner (courtesy of his Ninang Liv, Ninong Ayie and Mama's friends)! He truly enjoyed his day as he got everything that he requested for! It's truly a birthday wish come true.

Sadness, Hope and Joy in my Son's Eyes

Ben 10 characters toy collection
Where is Canonbolt?!

My 3-year old son, Brent, is already learning how to pick up his toys, keep it away and organize his things. Thus, we do not have much stress finding his stuffs, for he knows where he left it.

I come to witness his sadness when his favorite Canonbolt toy, a Ben10 character, got lost. He is so fond of Ben 10 Figure Toys. For three days, everyone kept looking for Canonbolt. We all thought that it was left in his Ninong's van or got lost when he took it outside.

He would bring and take Canonbolt anywhere- from taking a bath and from going to school but he keeps it in his bag when school is about to start. He would carry it when we go out in the mall, in the grocery and even in our in-laws and grandma's house. I did not realize that there is so much attachment and security that he was deeply saddened by the lost.

Last night, he still kept on searching for his toy, removing all the toys in their toy drawer and looking in his bags. Yet, there was no sign of Canonbolt. He eases this sadness by asking to watch Ben10 videos on YouTube. He felt better but still, I can feel the longing in his eyes.

He is full of hope that he would find Canonbolt. I am thankful this morning when his yaya found it just beneath the PC table in the living room! No one bothered to look here since that table was just recently moved, but it was there!

Canonbolt
Upon waking up, my son was filled with joy when he saw his favorite toy! His eyes lit up, his smile is all-over and he kept on holding on to Canonbolt! He might have believed that Canonbolt is just here and he knows that we are going to find it again. For him, it was just a mere game of hide-and-seek.

Happy Birthday Brent

Brent turned 3 years old. In celebration of his 3rd birthday, we ordered a Ben 10 cake from Red Ribbon and pizza from Pizza Hut, and celebrated the day at Active Fun. He loved Ben 10 characters so much; and this time, he got a Humongasour toy from me and his daddy and an Upchuck toy from his ninang Tela and ninong Ayie. He also got to receive toys from auntie Ekay and mama.
