The New Glorietta Vibe: World's Biggest Fashion Show

Move to the Vibe at Glorietta this coming Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 6 pm and see fashion history unfolds.

Watch as the country attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most number of people modelling on the runway. Around 2,500 of the Philippines' most beautiful, including the country’s top models, celebrities and personalities will be gracing the catwalk.

Well, guess what... I'm part of the list! And I got this AVA approved mark on my photo.

It was days ago when I got notifications from organizers that I'll be modelling for MEG Clothing.  This is something that I never dream of doing. But it is an honor to be included in the list. After that, I was informed that all MEG models would be joining the Vibe Segment.

Well, who wouldn't want to be part of the biggest fashion event in history?

As the event becomes nearer, I've seen more and more people wanting to be part of this fashion show. So, will you get to see me walking on the runway too?

Anyway, you can also catch this event via livestream at www.newgloriettavibe.ava.ph.

Wedding Plans

Weeks back, someone asked me for help in their wedding vows. It initially got me excited. Being a romantic-at-heart, writing love letters and poems is something that I used to enjoy. Yet, I never found myself writing a wedding vow for someone. Things got easier when I learned about the brief details about their love story.

I started writing and finished the personalized wedding vow in just a few hours. I can't believe that I've written more than 500-words just for it. It proves one thing - my mind and my heart is still overflowing with sweetness. When I handed the document over, I received a reply that the wedding vow I've written is really heart-warming, sweet and full of love. I still felt great knowing that my work would be part of their special day. I know that their wedding would be perfect.

Everyone wants to have a perfect wedding. If you're planning to get married soon, make sure you prepare a wedding checklist. It includes all the details that you need in your wedding - from the ceremony, the reception, the suppliers and even their guests.

You should also consider including wedding reply cards in your invitation. In this way, guests can send a quick reply aside from the usual RSVP number. Choose a creative theme that fits your wedding theme. These reply cards make you organized your guest list and it serves as a good keepsake as well. Moreover, you should not forget appreciating your wedding guests, people who send you well-wishes and everyone who witnessed your wedding ceremony.

Planning for a wedding is really exciting yet daunting. Making use of a wedding checklist is one key that would help your big day very happy and special. It keeps everything organized and prevents you from forgetting anything.

Remember 2011 | Achievements and Celebrations

"People who live the most fulfilling lives are the ones who are always rejoicing at what they have." - Richard Carlson, PhD

I always choose to live life in gratitude. These are moments that makes me more prouder and happier.

[Achievements and Recognitions]

Third Honors

third-honors

My kids' first year at SGIS had been fruitful. They both received the 3rd Honors award during the school recognition last March. They ranked 3rd (overall) in their levels respectively. In addition, my daughter received an award for Best in Conduct.

Proud that my sister got the 3rd Honors award as well.

Today, my daughter ranked 1st in class and my son is receiving high letter grades as well.

Blog Awards Finalist

A Woman Remembers had been a blog finalist for the Home and Parenting Category – National Level in the recently concluded Philippine Blog Awards. Being recognized and being included in the list is such an honor I never expected.

[Parties and Celebrations]

It had been a year filled with wonderful celebrations. From celebrating birthdays and attending birthday parties to welcoming new babies to the Christian world! In between, there are simple and "just-because" family celebrations that I would always be thankful for.

Smart Parenting Meet and Greet: Enlightening and Inspiring

SP_meet-greet

The Smart Parenting Meet and Greet had been an enlightening afternoon filled with inspiring talk and interesting discussions.

Being a former Summit Media employee, it felt good to be invited as one of the lucky magazine reader, together with my sister and my nephew. There I've met mommy and online friends, bloggers, and of course, the people behind Smart Parenting magazine and SmartParenting.com.ph.

"Words are more powerful than fact."
"Choose your words... direct your kids' life"
"... words that daily empower them to direct their life, their decisions"

words

All these interesting words came from the informative talk by Aileen Santos. Her talk on raising successful and happier kids thru the power of words is indeed very insightful. She shared the value of words, the labels that parents put on their kids, and its effect on their lives.

She used as an example the water-crystal experiment (crystalline formations made on both clean and dirty water ) conducted by Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto. It illustrated what words words can do to human beings.

The talk was followed by discussions with Smart Parenting staff where we, readers, share insights and suggestions as to what we'd like to see and improve about Smart Parenting.

There had been a raffle as well. My sister won baby products and I'm happy for getting a this cute prize - a mini water dispenser from Sangobion.

Thank you Smart Parenting and sponsors for these goodies.

I know lots of moms are already looking forward to next year's Smart Parenting Meet and Greet event!

This event was held last November 29, at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel. Major sponsors include Eastwood Richmonde Hotel and Sangobion.

Candlelight Dinner, Anyone?

It's Valentine's Day!

Many people celebrate this day by spending on flowers, chocolates, or having a dinner date. It's the typical way of showing their love ones just how special their Valentine is.

It is during this occasion wherein most dining restaurants are packed with couples celebrating this special day. But to those of you who haven't made reservations at any restaurant, you can make a romantic dinner at home with your special someone, family or friends, without spending a lot of money.

Preparing a candle lit dinner for your family is one of the most romantic thing to do. You can enjoy a romantic evening even without going out. You can get dressed and enjoy the ambiance of a chic restaurant. You can set the mood by playing soft music in the background. A candlelight can create the perfect setting for a romantic and warm family dinner.

It is always better to be comfortable having candlelight dinner wіtһ уουr Ɩονеԁ one using rechargeable candles. You won't worry of candles burning out halfway through уουr dinner. You can also be assured that your will be safe if you forget to blow your candles out after dinner.

These LED candles are flameless and can be used even if there are children or furnishings around. It won't get hot even if it is left burning for hours. It's flickering light, just like flame, makes it look realistic as possible. You can even use candle all year round!

Keep the love burning!

Express Your Love This Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is a special day of love and is very significant especially for couples and lovers. It's a day where lovers propose to their loved ones and everyone express their love towards anyone like their parents, brother, sister, grandparents, relatives, and friends.

This is an occasion when most people search for valentine gifts, greeting cards and Valentine’s Day messages to give to their beloved. The day is usually the most awaited day for couples wanting to show their affection for one another. Buying and receiving classic gifts - from chocolates and roses - can really melt anyone's heart.

Have you thought of writing a love letter to your special Valentine?

In this fast changing world of emails and text messaging, handwritten love letters are becoming rare. I remember how I used to write love letters, composing love poems, and reading love notes during my teen years. As the famous saying goes, "the pen is mightier than the sword."

Using a lovely pen can give you an exquisite writing experience. The sophisticated and stylish appeal of the waterman carene pen is like holding an eternal beauty in your hands. This pen can also make a great gift for the special people in your life.

Let love letters bring more passion and romance into your lives. This Valentine's day, take time to write a love letter to your Valentine.

Chinese New Year 2011

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

I'm sending everyone good good vibes and prosperity in this Year of the Rabbit! Hoping that this Year of the Rabbit would be a more welcomed and peaceful year.

Chinese New Year is an important festival celebrated by the Chinese community. Here in the Philippines, most people would use the popular greeting "Kung Hei Fat Choi!" It's a Cantonese greeting that means "Congratulations and wishing you prosperity!"

If you want to greet someone “Happy New Year” in Mandarin, you can say “Xin Nian Kuai Le!”

Aside from the Dragon and Lion dances, the Chinese also give away red envelopes as a symbol of luck and wealth. They wear red clothes to bring fortune and new clothes to bring enough things throughout the year. Firecrackers are lit to ward of bad spirits. And of course, one of the most principal dishes cooked during this time is the ‘Tikoy,’ a food that symbolizes unity.

Oh, I just saw this morning that we already have 6 boxes of Tikoy (sticky rice cake) at home. Can't wait to eat some.

Precious Moving Up Programs

moving up from Nursery

March 18 and 19 were precious days for my kids as we a share with them another significant day in their preschool life - their moving up and graduation programs.

It was a short and simple ceremony - no lengthy hours sitting and listening to speeches - but still meaningful and memorable.

It was more of the preschoolers presentation. They deliver their lines, danced and sang... not perfectly, but heartwarming nevertheless. The teachers, the preschoolers and their parents are all beaming with joy and pride.

Their moving up day is more than awards and recognition, it's more of valuing the kids' experiences for a year and bringing it to a close. It's more about achievement, rather, it marks the start of another chapter in their lives.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
the presentation

I am grateful for the teachers for nurturing my kids well, for the safe joyride from school to our home everyday, for the friendship. It was indeed a great decision that we've chosen Precious Partners. I know my kids will always remember their precious years in preschool. They have touched our lives in grand ways.

We've celebrated it with just how the kids want it to be - lunch at Jollibee for my son and Shakey's lunch for my daughter.

Jollibee and Shakey's lunch

We have moved on, literally. If not because of this move, my son would have stayed for two more years at Precious Partners.

This coming school year, my son would be in Kinder 1 and my daughter would be in Grade 1. They would soon be in a different school with new classmates, teachers, and environment. Now, It's time to gear up for another change.
